80% Sauvignon blanc, 20% Sémillon
Opgelet: Smith Haut Lafitte heeft 2 "tweede wijnen". Naast de grote 1er Vin maken ze zowel "Petit Haut Lafitte" als "Les Hauts de Smith". Het verschil zit in de assemblage: "Les Hauts" wordt gemaakt van 100 % Sauvignon Blanc, terwijl "Le Petit" een assemblage is van Semillon en Sauvignon Blanc. We konden beiden al in een aantal jaargangen vergelijken, en uiteraard is een pure Sauvgnon Blanc wijn frisser, zomerser, maar we zoeken in een serieuze appellatie als Pessac-Leognan toch ook wat meer diepgang, complexiteit en klasse.

The 2024 Le Petit Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is outrageously beautiful. It captures all the stylishness and personality of the Grand Vin, but at a far more accessible price. Lemon confit, marzipan, white pepper, chamomile and tangerine peel all come alive in the glass. Floral notes lift the airy, expressive finish. Wonderful.
